It did came out in 96, just took until 98 for them to fulfil the orders.

Are we talking about legitimate errors in tape transferring/mastering or performance mistakes from Prince while playing/recording in this case? The first one is the only real "error" in the set from a technical POV that can be confirmed in that sense

I'm not buying that the live show is "slow". I've matched many of the notes on my tuned guitar but happy to see if someone can prove otherwise. Sounds fine to me. I'm not sure how this would even happen unless its some kind of 50Hz vs 60hz thing but I think that would go the other way.

It's two versions tacked together. You can hear the drums change. And there is a slight difference in volume, but it's only in the last :15 seconds or so.

Visions - The first note is cut off at the beginning.

Gotcha. That makes sense. The responses to JoeyCocco's question gave the impression that the liner notes explicity address the volume change, but it appears they implicitly explain it.

According to Princevault: "In 1990, Wendy & Lisa included this track (now renamed Minneapolis #1) as the first track on a limited edition bonus CD included with their third album Eroica [...]"

If anyone has that CD they can listen to see if the introductory note is included. That will give us an idea of whether that note was intended to be there or something Lisa thought should be scrubbed.

Thanks for the response. When I read some say that it's explained in the liner, it didn't make sense. This was an error...an obvious one.

The book states "Train" was recorded heavily with the D50 but that synth didn't come out until a year later. Think he meant to say the DX7 which is where the Train sounds come from.
