black folks always shouted me down when i said P loved Elvis. the threads are buried here some 12 years ago probably. black folks generally hate elvis today but he wasn't always seen like that before those rumors that he said racist things came out. My black stepdad's mom was a huge fan and she hated white people for the most part.

When I was in one of the studios during one of the celebrations there was an Elvis biography on the console. Also keep in mind that he´s played a couple of Elvis songs during his live shows., for example Jailhouse Rock.

Agreed. I noticed that as well.

Cinnamon Girl is a song that deals with the political and social aftermath of 9/11, and Call My Name also has some lyrics that mention spying on the citizens after 9/11. Like Istenzek said, Prince also mentioned OBL during a concert, too. The Xenophobia video is also about...well, xenophobia and fear after 9/11 and what middle eastern looking people have to deal with after 9/11 and so on.

He´s also talked about 9/11 and the Middle East in many other songs and interviews.

The song Pearls Before the Swine and the line about baklava and a bagel with cream cheese is about Arabs and Jews.

I've just updated the list.

I'm not including cds of his concerts (spread all over the house, I'm not talking about the vault) or of his unreleased projects - too many too mention, and it could be another whole new post.----for example, there's even one printed cd which states "Prince and Andy Allo", unkonwn, at least to me.

I'm neither including computer programs, musical, manual books, at least for now.

falloff The Twilight Zone lol lol lol

Is that the TV show or the movie version from 1983?

For 65 years straight, the #1 genre in music, selling wise, was rock n' roll worldwide. Last year (2017) in June, it got de-crowned by hip hop. Hip hop is the #1 genre. It's hip hop - rock - country - pop or pop - country. ~ Pras

i wonder which bio it was. I know he was a fan but i also know most of the black fans would deny this just because they don't like what elvis represents to them.

I don’t know… Prince had a pretty broad and goofy sense of humour at times biggrin (I leave to the young women to chastise you for the implication that they're necessarily dumb!)

The themes in L'avventura on the other hand are pretty dark, and possibly pertinent to Prince. I wouldn’t read too much into it though - it’s just a great film. Very stylish (and he was also a Fellini fan).

I love Erich von Daniken and have read most of his books because he really does present intriguing theories and ideas despite being called out constantly for years for being a fraud and outright lying in some of his books about various things he's claimed to have seen or researched. I'm both surprised and not surprised that Prince would read von Daniken.
