Ice Cube clarifies his role in developing Trump's 'Platinum Plan,'

Ice Cube clarifies that both parties contacted him before he helped the Trump administration with its new package

Ice Cube is taking some serious heat from fans after Katrina Pierson, senior adviser to Donald Trump's re-election campaign, thanked him on Twitter for teaming up with the president's administration on a $500 billion "Platinum Plan" package to support Black communities. According to Complex, the administration claims the package will "create 3 million new jobs, push for criminal justice reform, improve access to better education and job opportunities, reduce health care costs, and designate Juneteenth as a national holiday." Amid negative feedback on social media and from multiple news outlets, Cube clarified that both parties reached out to him for help. "Facts: I put out the CWBA [Contract With Black America]," he tweeted Wednesday. "Both parties contacted me. Dems said we'll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA." The rapper and actor has long maintained neither major party has the best interests of Black America in mind....

From N.W.A. to MAGA: Ice Cube takes some heat for working with the Trump administration

Rapper Ice Cube once said he would never endorse Donald Trump. And though not an endorsement, the rapper is causing a stir this week for working with the President on his...ck America.

Cube confirmed and defended his stance on Wednesday, tweeting that the Trump campaign made adjustments to "their plan" after talking to him about his Contract With Black America, a plan he released earlier this year to address racial inequality, while Democrats said they would wait until after the election.

"Every side is the Darkside for us here in America," Ice Cube tweeted, while defending the work he's done with Trump. "They're all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can't afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan."

Dubbed the "Platinum Plan," Trump's plan for Black America includes initiatives like "neighborhoods with highest policing standards" and replacing "failing schools" with "full school choice."

Ice Cube claims CNN interview canceled by 'powers that be': 'Can't handle the truth'

Ice Cube on Thursday said that CNN "can't handle the truth" after the network reportedly canceled his interview on Cuomo Prime Time.

The alleged cancellation comes amid backlash after Trump adviser Katrina Pierson on Tuesday shared on Twitter that the rapper was helping develop the administration's "Platinum Plan," which aims to bring $500 billion back to Black America.

Ice Cube responded on Wednesday, tweeting that both parties contacted him after he released his Contract with Black America, which seeks to address "the heart of racism" and present "a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice."

The rapper said that Democrats told him they'd address the initiative after the election, while the Trump campaign made adjustments to its plan after speaking with him.

However, on Thursday, Ice Cube was still responding to the development on Twitter. In response to an article in The Washington Post about the controversy, Ice Cube said "I will advise anybody on the planet who has the power to help Black Americans close the enormous wealth gap."...

"So the POWERS that be cancelled my interview on @CuomoPrimeTime tonight. I've actually been ban from @CNN for a few months so I was surprised they even asked. But it seems like they can't handle the truth," he tweeted.

I never got into that whole 'my president' nonsense. For me, it's always 'the current president', whether I voted for him or not.

Ice Cube can do whatever he wants....I find the timing of Trump's so-called 'plan' interesting. Why now, so close to the election? Why not do this years ago?

Didn't Steve Harvey approach Trump back in 2016/17 to help do something for a particualar City but Steve got attacked and called a sell out and whatever he wanted to do got 'rejected' by people he was trying to help

.

The role of the activist is to take their wins when ever they can. Ice Cube has made it clear he does not care who he works with and he wants to work with both - and they want to be seen to work with him.

.

Being an effective SJW, to use a term made falsely pejorative by the far right a few years ago, means working with all sides of government and recogising that the parties you prefer have their faults and the ones you don't have their good side. I do this all the time in my line of work. I have sat down in the Parliamentary offices of members and ministers from Labor, Liberal, Family First, Jackie Lamby, the Shooters and Fishers, Motor alliance, Greens, United Australia Party and spoken to many others.

.

In this I always know that, except just before an election for an issue that has visibility, the parties out of government will be ones you can work with. In the lead up to the election on a visible issue the governing party will suddenly want to talk whilst the party trying to win back government will have its own focus. If it is not a visible vote winning issue (eg most complex economic reforms) they will both ignore you in the election period so you are largely restricted to working with the party out of government and they may do something when they return to government.

That can't be right - every party keeps its election promises, don't they?
