I wear my mask at work unless I am 10 feet away... I have 3 on me most of the time so if one gets moist I can take it off and let it dry. (that is ONE On my face and 2 in my pocket: but my face is made for covid)

My state has some formula for masks. Some towns near me have an order to wear one in public. I think that vast majority of people wear them when in public.

I have different colour masks to match each outfit. Which, when the masks first became a thing, I said to myself that I wouldn't do. But yet here we are a few months later and my vanity has taken over.

But aside from the look of the mask, it actually took me a while to get used to wearing it. Like some sort of weird mental block. It felt like I was suffocating every time I put it on. But I got used to it and now I don't really notice it. Apart from if I'm wearing my glasses, in which case they steam up every time I have the mask on. But luckily, I don't really have to wear them much.

Pelosi spars with CNN's Blitzer over COVID-19 aid: 'You really don't know what you're talking about'

The Hill logoPelosi spars with CNN's Blitzer over COVID-19 aid: 'You really don't know what you're talking about'

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday defended holding out for a more expansive COVID-19 economic relief package than the current proposal offered by the Trump administration in an unusually contentious interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, telling the news anchor that "you really don't know what you're talking about" and calling him an "apologist" for Republicans.

Pelosi and the Trump administration have been trying to negotiate a pandemic relief package for months to no avail, with Democrats currently pushing for a price tag of $2.2 trillion - down from their initial proposal of $3.4 trillion this spring - and the Trump administration most recently offering a $1.8 trillion proposal.

Blitzer asked Pelosi to respond to a tweet from progressive Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) earlier this week urging Democrats to consider the White House's latest offer and "make a deal & put the ball in [Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell's [R-Ky.] court" because "people in need can't wait until February."

I stopped buying stuff from Amazon or from out of the country brands. Will continue to support local New Yorkers.

CDC denounces 'unethical and illegal' mandatory coronavirus testing in schools
By Jennifer Scholtes 10 hrs ago
.

The CDC is condemning mandatory coronavirus testing in K-12 schools, updating guidance after New York City began random testing this week on thousands of students and educators.

In revamped advice published this week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention endorses voluntary "surveillance" testing in schools but decries any mandates.

"It is unethical and illegal to test someone who does not want to be tested, including students whose parents or guardians do not want them to be tested," the CDC said.

Key context: The updated guidance comes as the agency's reputation for objectivity has been undermined by reports that political appointees within the Trump administration have intervened in the drafting of CDC reports during the pandemic.

In New York City's first day of random coronavirus testing in schools this week, the city's Department of Education ran more than 1,700 tests, finding one positive case among the 56 schools that participated. City officials have said students whose guardians do not consent to the tests could be barred from in-person education and offered remote learning if enough consent forms are not filled out to produce an appropriate sampling from a given school.

Many U.S. universities have also mandated coronavirus testing for anyone who uses campus facilities during the pandemic...

No surprise here, we knew this would happen... Fauci is telling us to "bite the bullet" and avoid Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends:

"That is unfortunately a risk, when you have people coming from out of town, gathering together in an indoor setting. It is unfortunate, because that’s such a sacred part of American tradition — the family gathering around Thanksgiving. But that is a risk. Given the fluid and dynamic nature of what’s going on right now in the spread and the uptick of infections, I think people should be very careful and prudent about social gatherings, particularly when members of the family might be at a risk because of their age or their underlying condition… You may have to bite the bullet and sacrifice that social gathering, unless you’re pretty certain that the people that you’re dealing with are not infected."

https://www.zerohedge.com...anksgiving

This comes after "CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield warned that sharing Thanksgiving dinner indoors with a group of loved ones was very, very dangerous."

I discussed this with my extended family in August. We've already decided, we're getting together like every year so we will not be following this "advice". Not even if they make it a "mandate".

I respect(ed) Fauci for his knowledge. But he seems to be an extreme germaphobe.
Society/Life cannot continue the way they want it too.

Masks are not even the issue. The problem is germs carried from the hands to the face. A person can wear a mask all day long, touch a surface with corona, put their hand in their mouth or eyes or that of comeone else while everyone is wearing masks and still spread the virus.

People have to be more conscious of that. But shutting down life is idioting.

I am starting to get a bit of a thing for masks... I look at people's eyes more... I and sometimes they slip down and I see a nose or cheek!

I also saw something that the CDC wants to get something in place to test teachers and healthcare people... that sounds expensive when I think other means may work just as well.

I hope to give blood in a few days (if i can I have 2 more days of antibiotics to go and the drive is next monday or tuesday). I hopw they do a test them as well as an antibody test. Before it all blew up somone I work with had something and I felt sick for a few days too. No feaver, no cough...no other symptoms just felt really tired and worn,)

but anyway at work I wear my mask: I have a small staff of 3 and then some others come and go and I tell them to wear theirs... someone said at a small event "you do not need to wear one.." to me... and said "yes we do, we all within 6 feet...so we need to all wear them..." (and they did)

Stop wiping down groceries and focus on bigger risks,
say experts on coronavirus transmission
Elizabeth Chang 3 hrs ago

.

Although studies continue to show that the novel coronavirus can be detected on contaminated objects after days or weeks, a consensus has emerged among scientists that the virus is rarely transmitted through contact with tainted surfaces and that it's safe to stop taking such extreme measures as quarantining your mail and wiping down your groceries.
.
"To the best of my knowledge, in real life, scientists like me — an epidemiologist and a physician — and virologists basically don't worry too much about these things," said David Morens, a senior adviser to the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony S. Fauci.

That's in line with advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has updated its "How Covid-19 Spreads" Web page to say that "spread from touching surfaces is not thought to be a common way" the virus is transmitted.
.

Although ongoing research can sound alarming — such as an Australian study published Oct. 7, which found that SARS-CoV-2 could be detected on surfaces such as glass and stainless steel after 28 days — Morens said the public should not be concerned....
