2020 Presidential Election Part III

The first debate is tomorrow. It will be interesting to see exactly what Wallace asks and to see if trump can deflect or lie well enough when answering.... and if Biden can hold his temper.

How the Biden-Trump Debate Will Play on TV (Don’t Expect Fact-Checks)

“My job is to be as invisible as possible,” said Chris Wallace of Fox News, the moderator of the opening matchup on Tuesday.

What the......????

Trump 2016 campaign 'targeted 3.5m black Americans to deter them from voting'

Secret effort allegedly focused on 16 swing states, several narrowly won by Trump after the black Democrat vote collapsed

Donald Trump’s 2016 US presidential election campaign has been accused of actively seeking to deter 3.5 million black Americans in battleground states from voting by deliberately targeting them with negative Hillary Clinton ads on Facebook.

The secret effort concentrated on 16 swing states, several narrowly won by Trump after the black Democrat vote collapsed.

The claims have come from an investigation by Channel 4 News, which was leaked a copy of a vast election database it says was used by the Trump campaign in 2016.

Comprising the records of 198 million Americans, and containing details about their domestic and economic status acquired from market research firms, the investigation claimed voters were segmented into eight categories.

M
ORE!

Last night’s bombshell revelation about Donald Trump’s tax returns was profoundly ugly for him. But as it turns out, it may just be the start of an avalanche of ugly scandalous stories coming his way. Today the British press is finally blowing open an old Trump scandal: Cambridge Analytica.

It’s long been generally known that data firm Cambridge Analytica, while acting as an arm of the Trump 2016 campaign, used stolen user data to identify and mislead targeted voters. But now thanks to a major data leak, the UK’s Channel 4 News has the details of what went down. It turns out the data firm had secret files on 200 million Americans, and it labeled 3.5 million Black Americans as “deterrence” – meaning they were specifically targeted with disinformation in an effort to trick them out of voting for Hillary Clinton.

I cannot wait for this debate.

Just these two lunatics talking over each other for an hour, it's gonna be so good.

‘We don’t want him!’ Eric Trump sparks confusion by declaring himself part of the LGBT community

Eric Trump awkwardly described himself as a member of the LGBT community on Fox News, setting off some puzzled reactions.

Media Matters researcher Bobby Lewis, who monitors “Fox & Friends” daily, flagged the exchange, which was prompted by a New York Times column about a lesbian woman who supports President Donald Trump.

“The LGBT community, they are incredible,” Eric Trump said, “and you should see how they come out in full force for my father every single day. I’m part of that community, and we love the man.

Definitely!! but of course it’s no surprise the Trumpbots will deny it. If Trump told those fools to jump off a building to show their loyalty, they would do it.

President Trump refused to categorically denounce white supremacists on Tuesday night, diverting a question about right-wing extremist violence in Charlottesville, Va., and Portland, Ore., into an attack on “left-wing” protesters.

“Are you willing tonight to condemn white supremacists and groups to say they need to stand down and not add to the violence and number of the cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we’ve seen in Portland?” Chris Wallace, the moderator, asked the president.

“Sure. I’m willing to do that,” said Mr. Trump, quickly adding, “Almost everything I see is from the left wing. Not from the right wing.”

“Proud Boys, stand back and standby,” he said, apparently addressing the far-right group, then added: “But I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what. Somebody has to do something about antifa and the left. This is not a right-wing problem. This is left wing.”

^ WTF is that?

It was a shout out to his racist base nod

At a rally yesterday, Trump told his base: "30% of the people in the suburbs live in low income housing. 30% of the people in the suburbs are minorities. We're ruining the American Dream for everybody." He was talking about getting rid of the AFFH rule. He went on to say, "And I'm not doing well in the suburbs, are you all crazy?"

DHS talking points on Kyle Rittenhouse included "making public comments sympathetic to Kyle Rittenhouse" https://www.nbcnews.com/p...c-n1241581

In preparing Homeland Security officials for questions about Rittenhouse from the media, the document suggests that they note that he "took his rifle to the scene of the rioting to help defend small business owners."

Another set of talking points distributed to Homeland Security officials said the media were incorrectly labeling the group Patriot Prayer as racists after clashes erupted between the group and protesters in Portland, Oregon.

It is unclear whether any of the talking points originated at the White House or within Homeland Security's own press office.

Well at least there are far fewer people defending this fat orange turd than I've seen in a while so that's something at least.

It's just so fucking depressing and watching that Jerry Springer Show pale imitation of a "debate" has me worried moving forward. It wouldn't surprise me at all if, inside of 8 to 12 years, our debates really ARE like a Springer show, complete with bleeped out cuss words, chair throwing and andgr stripper girlfriends. Full Idiocracy.

America is, due to its political system and demographics of it's only two viable parties, basically an apartheid-lite state. Sure, some minorities vote Republican but by and large those that vote get their voting power diluted to a horrific degree which has resulted into an insane situation which you would think would have already resulted into a civil war where one party has:

- Control of the Supreme Court despite losing the NATIONAL popular vote for the position that controls it five out of the last six times

- Control of the Senate, the more important chamber of the Congress, with fifteen million less votes

- Control of the presidency with three million less votes

- And engages in gerrymandering at a state level on a huge scale that explains point #2.

This party is openly white supremacist, refuses to recognize the legitimate election if they lose, is supported in the streets by a violent right-wing militia movement and bases it's rule on a few select states which draw it's strengths from the social interests of racist rural whites and the financial interests of a white oligarchy whose financial interests are based on the exploitation of property rights and people (actual slavery in private prisons). The president is a complete incompetent who despite their personal background supports the above party and actively makes the situation worse by said incompetence. And people laud him for it and his followers WORSHIP him.

This is just starting to look so familiar that I honestly think anyone who doesn't vote for Biden or start preparing for armed revolution needs to read the history of their own country to see where this will lead.

Because by statements, historical record and voting record, only one party is interested in *any* kind of voting reform of the minority rule, even if it's mostly lip service. Voting Biden is the only peaceful option. And I do not like Joe Biden at all. The left-wing in America is either too small, too politically disengaged, too fractured ...(or essentially TOO POOR) to capture the Democratic party by political action. We've seen this repeatedly.

So only viable political way left now (I really thought people would vote for Bernie this time, oh well) to oppose Trump is to vote for Biden, despite his many sins and obvious shortcomings.

It sucks but that's the way it is. I'm open to other interpretations.

well, yeah.

I thought I made that clear in my post.

I'm casting my ballot for him the first day of early voting here in FL, in person (not even trying to deal with USPS fuckery), but he's not the solution to much of anything beyond getting this dangerous, self centered, asshole moron out of office and sending him back to whatever TV show, website or news program he slithers off to while he continues grifting rubes.

Biden is essentially a centrist Republican and has goverened that way his entire career. I grew up in Delaware and know all about him. He's no ally for BLM, legalized weed, the working class, Medicare for All, police reform, breaking up banks, criminal justice, the social safety net and a million other things I stand for - and I personally don't think his mental faculties are entirely up to snuff either - but right now simply "not being a fascist criminal asshole" will have to suffice and I'm going to crawl through a river of burning shit to vote for him.

Because here we are. I didn't ask for this choice (voted for Warren in the primaries) and sometimes wonder how different the country might look if we had elected Al Gore (well, actually we DID), Hillary, McGovern, and even Carter for a second term. Or Sanders for a first one. I think we'd have a stronger and more fair and equitable nation instead of the late stage game of Monopoly we're playing now.

Biden owes his entire political career to coddling and deregulating banks while making Delaware the Camun Islands "Light" of the United States where credit companies can operate with unregulated impunity. Ever notice how all your credit card bills come from DE? There's a reason. And CITI, Chase, Capital One...are all a HUGE part of the problem surrounding the mess we're in.

Biden is not your friend, nor is the DNC in its current form.

We'll still have a TON of work to do once we wash out hands of Donald and the fascists aren't going anywhere but, hey, "baby steps" I suppose.
