It's weird how we know the exact minute that the baby was born. We even know the weight of the baby*. But we don't know the little fucker's name. I suggest the name "James" after Harry's real father. * I've never understood why people want to know the weight of a baby. When I had my daughter, the first question most people asked was "what weight is she". It's really bizarre. Like, who cares what weight she is?

We didn't find out the sex of either of our kids until they were born. When our oldest was born (our son), we had boy and girl names picked out.

My wife comes from a family of all girls so after she had a son, she was certain that meant all she'd ever have were boys.

Imagine our surprise when our next child was a girl - and we didn't have an agreed-upon name. The doctor said, "Congratulations on your daughter, what is her name?" I said one name; my wife said another. The doctor said, "You two have something to talk about".

My wife and I held a vote and she prevailed, 1 vote to 1 vote.

Her choice was better, anyway.

The woman's vote always counts double in these situations. biggrin

You do know that Sussex is not actually the child's name, don't you?

If you're going to refer to people as 'scum' or 'garbage vomit', at least have a reason to do so.

Right, now that you mention it. Someone I know named Pat named their kid, Patson. And going way back, my grandfather was named Elson for the same reason. I actually like Archie, it's cheerful, somewhat like Harry. He will be labelled as different by some people, no matter what.

If his name is Archie, then let the first song he ever hears be "Jughead".

Once again we see that Prince was decades ahead of his time!

They kept the anglicized Mountbatten (Battengerg https://en.wikipedia.org/...ten_family ). They changed that during WW1 because of anti German sentiment.

I don't know about Harrison, but it was a thing to put the word son after a father's name.

Based on his family's hair, Archibald will apply in due course.

I missed the comments but how in the Sam Hill can anyone post something snippable on a thread about a baby?!?

Screwed-up priorities, I guess? I don't know, that's a real head-scratcher.
