For 65 years straight, the #1 genre in music, selling wise, was rock n' roll worldwide. Last year (2017) in June, it got de-crowned by hip hop. Hip hop is the #1 genre. It's hip hop - rock - country - pop or pop - country. ~ Pras

Not necessarily. Milli Vanilli had fame. For 65 years straight, the #1 genre in music, selling wise, was rock n' roll worldwide. Last year (2017) in June, it got de-crowned by hip hop. Hip hop is the #1 genre. It's hip hop - rock - country - pop or pop - country. ~ Pras

I never said fame gets you into the Hall, just saying you have yo have so type of (Fame.) Milli Vanilli had fame. So did Tiffany, MC Hammer, Limp Bizkit and Ja Rule. But they're not making the Hall of Fame. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I think some more country acts should be inducted since it is part of the sound of rock n roll, especially rockabilly, southern rock, & country rock. I think the only ones in now are Bob Wills, Hank Williams, & Johnny Cash. No country, then no Elvis Presley or Eagles, who have been inducted. Some Beatles songs also have country sounds in them and they remade a song by Buck Owens and Chuck Berry has some country elements too. Most Country acts most likely won't get in. Same with Jazz and Blues. Since those artforms were around pre-Rock & Roll era. Only a select few of COuntry, Jazz and Blues guys post Rock & Roll era have made the Hall. PRINCE: Always and Forever

The Big Bopper. Yes, he was a One Hit Wonder who may only be a household name because of the fact that he was a victim of The Day That Music Died Plane Crash. But hear me out. The Big Bopper filmed the first ever music video (For his song Little Red Riding Hood) and had broken the record for the longest simulatneous radio broadcast (5 Days, 2 Hours, and 8 Minutes). Plus Everyone knows the song Chantilly Lace and many people have covered it including Jerry Lee Lewis who is already in the Hall of Fame The Wind and the willow's playing Tea for Two.
