So what is she supposed to do then? Record songs that sound 50 years out of date?

Why not, she's 50 years out of date to some. lol

That was cold. razz

Madonna feat. Glenn Miller ... gets my vote! biggrin

I think I see the point that's trying to be made though. I mentioned Springsteen earlier ... there's an artist that still makes good albums without the need to rope in the latest 'hot' producer or jump on the bandwagon of whoever the artist of the moment is. Prince was the same, he never needed to do that.

I get that Madonna has always had good writers and producers behind her but they were never the focus. I'd like to see her go back to that, I want to hear what she has to say ... ditch the Madonna feat. Pharrell, Timbaland, Timberlake, LMFAO, whoeverdaf*ck. I buy a Madonna record for her, not for these other chumps.

You do bring up a good point.Sone artists don’t like to be stuck in a box. They prefer to grow and evolve. There are fans who want Madonna to record another Ray Of Light or another Like A Prayer,as if it were that easy biggrin Times have changed, sounds have changed. The entire musical landscape is different.

I really wish she'd make a mature record again. She has the potential, but she seems to be regressing if her social media is anything to judge. Stop collaborating with twelve year-olds and puerile rappers. If Janet can do it with Unbreakable, Madonna has no excuse. Mirwais is a step in the right direction, but for fuck's sake, stay far away from Migos.

STOP always trying to prove how relevant you are. You aren’t and haven’t been for 20+ years. Just go away already....

Yeah, never mind the millions of fans worldwide who are looking forward to her next album ... I guess we should just go jump off a cliff to, seeing as we aren't "cool" anymore ...

Exactly. She's not going anywhere. Of course, the listener just has to not listen to not hear her. Madonna stopped proving herself long ago, once she became the queen.

This experience will cover courtship, sex, commitment, fetishes, loneliness, vindication, love, and hate.

Staying "Relevant" is something young pop stars have to worry about. Madonna is a living legend and will keep on doing "her" until the end and I, for one, am here for it.

is this fan made? Looks decent actually

Download all the shit hop that you can for your kids, neices, nephews, and their friends also. That will prevent them from going out and buying it and will prevent some shit hop sales. Every little bit helps - Andy

I'm not sure what this is all about, but here's that video you mentioned.Could this be a teaser for the new single? Or,could it be part of an upcoming music video?

She needs to drop that stupid, grating accent.

Whatever it IS, it's thought provoking and "that stupid, grating accent" is SO OVER THE TOP and FAKE! Didn't it use 2b BRITISH at one time? wink <3

Is she really releasing an album this year? She's been awfully quiet about it. It would be nice but I have a weird feeling it might not come out until 2019 since she usually tours in the summer.

She is currently in Malawi hanging out with some singer named Lazarus.

I have a feeling she might try to do some world music influenced stuff.

The only really hint she gave on her Instagram was she was singing with some ladies from Cape Verde.

People always go on and on about her being more mature, not doing electronica or not following trends.

But dance/electronic music and contemporary sounds has always been at the heart of who she is.

I think the challenge is how does she mature, but not stop being Madonna!

Too many people want her to change to being a totally different type of artist just because she is older. They bring up older rock artists like Bruce Springsteen who has zero in common with Madonna.

I really enjoyed the diversity of sounds on Rebel Heart. I thought it was one of her better albums. A shame it leaked out early online.

I think world music could be a good direction for her. Something slightly different but something she could credibly pull off. She has done nice world music elements on her tours.

The only concern I have is all this fuss about cultural appropriation which supposedly means you aren't allowed to do music outside your race or culture which is one of the worst things to happen to artistic freedom. I hope if she does world music there's no kind of backlash from the cultural warriors.

yeah, spring 2019 seems more likely...right before the tour next summer. She's probably being quiet about it after what happened with Rebel Heart (tracks leaking months before its release).

and the thing is,Rebel Heart was filled with "mature songs".Songs like "Living For Love","Devil Pray","Ghostown","Joan Of Arc","Heartbeak City","Wash All Over Me","Messiah","Beautiful Scars","Borrowed Time" and the reflective title track are not exactly teenybopper tunes biggrin on those tracks, she's thinking some serious thoughts and singing some serious songs. The entire album isn't all "Bitch,I'm Madonna"-type songs, lol.

Yes. probably. It's just that in the fall and holiday season sales are higher plus there are more promotional opportunities like fall fashion magazines and fall arts preview sections. She usually releases in the spring, but I think fall is a better time!

True, but somehow people never see that. Her music has always been a mix of mature and a more fun side. That's kind of who she is. She's a contradictory artist. That's why some people have a hard time understanding her.

yeah, alot of people didn't understand the theme of Rebel Heart. It's showing two sides of Madonna: the "rebel" side and the "heart" side.I reject the notion that,as we get older,we're supposed to be all serious and not have fun anymore biggrin

I got in to Madonna all those years ago because of her dance music ... she's always been about dancing and the dancefloor, and I hope that never changes.

However, M use to find trends in the clubs then bring that to her albums, so they felt kinda fresh, like when she brought voguing in to the mainstream, or when she brought trance sounds off the European dancefloors in 1998 for the Ray of Light album. Her last few albums have just jumped on the EDM bandwagon though. That sound was old hat before MDNA came out, let alone now.

If she could get back to being more ahead of the curve rather than behind it, I'd be happy. That's why I hoped she might find the synthwave sound that was bubbling under three years ago ... it had big 80s throwback sound which would have been such a perfect fit for her. If she does it now folks will just say she's jumping on the 80s nostalgia bandwagon.
