I meant overall it's her worst album. I can only name about 5 songs I really love

Worse than Discipline and Dream Street?

Hell yes! There's some good stuff on 20 YO, but the bad stuff is brutal. Most of the better material from that era didn't make the album. Easily the worst JJ album IMO.

Inside Janet Jackson's 'Painful' Divorce: Star Was 'Verbally Abused' and Felt Like a Prisoner in Her Home, Brother Claims

-

BY JANINE RUBENSTEIN@JANINERUBE

POSTED ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 AT 3:49PM EDT

-

-

Janet Jackson‘s older brother Steven Randall “Randy” Jackson claims that his sister suffered “verbal abuse” and felt like “a prisoner in her own home” during her marriage to London-based Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana. The businessman’s attorneys issued a statement saying he will not be responding to the “particular and deeply hurtful allegations”.

-

Speaking to PEOPLE exclusively, the former Jackson 5 star, 55, says, “Enough is enough” as he opens up for the first time about what he says is a troubling situation for the superstar singer.

-

“There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have,” says Randy, referring to Janet’s ongoing divorce and custody battle with Al Mana, 42.

The pair, who wed in 2012 and welcomed son Eissa on Jan. 3, have been in London courts since April, when the star confirmed their split in a video she shot with Randy at her side.

-

As for what led to the divorce, Randy, who has attended court proceedings with Janet, draws a stark picture of his sister’s life with Al Mana towards the end of their relationship.

-

“It was quite an abusive situation,” Randy claims. “It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch everyday. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.”

In a statement released to PEOPLE, attorneys for Al Mana say “Mr. Al Mana is not going to dignify these particular and deeply hurtful allegations with a response.

-

“The breakdown of his marriage to Janet Jackson is a cause of great sadness to Mr. Al Mana, and it is the wellbeing and privacy of their son, Eissa, that remains his sole focus.”

-

Randy, who lives in London near the home Janet and Al Mana shared, claims that while the abuse was not physical, he was compelled to come to his sister’s aid earlier this year.

-

“I told her, ‘You’ve got to move in with me or I’m going to go over there and there’s going to be hell.’ She was really pissed off. I told her, ‘I don’t care anymore. I’m tired of it. It’s too much,’ ” he says

According to Randy, he wasn’t the only member of the large Jackson family to rally around Janet after the divorce, “My mom and [sister] Rebbie came out [to London].”

-

As for mom Katherine Jackson, 87, and father Joe Jackson, 89, Randy says at first, he shielded them from what he knew. “I didn’t want them to know. My parents are up there in age so I wanted to protect them as much as possible, but now they know. Everybody in the family knows.”

-

Soon after the news of their separation, Al Mana, who is reportedly Muslim, updated his website WissamAlMana.com with a passage from the Quran:

-

“You shall most certainly be tried in your possessions and in your persons; and indeed you shall hear many hurtful things from those to whom revelation was granted before your time, as well as from those who have come to ascribe divinity to other beings beside Allah. But if you remain patient in adversity and conscious of Him – this, behold, is something to set one’s heart upon. – 3:186 “

-

Despite early reports that the couple’s split had to do with differing religious beliefs(Randy says Janet is Christian), Randy says that was not the problem.

-

“I have a lot of Muslim friends and they don’t act that way at all,” he says. “It’s a personal issue that he needs help with and I’m going to pray for him, too. But I’m not going to allow her to live in that abusive situation. She’s my baby sister.”

-

Al Mana also took to his website with a picture of his estranged wife and a positive message titled “Love”. It reads: “To the most beautiful person in the world, thank you for your divine love, your eternal support and for being my best friend. I love you so much. Inshallah, we will be together in the Great Forever.”

-

Randy says things have been anything but amicable. Asked how Janet is doing now, he says it’s a tough time, noting that the famed “Control” singer has been breaking down into tears on stage night after night. While performing her song “What About” during her opening night in Houston on Saturday, she was overcome with emotion.

-

“What you saw in Houston, it was her situation coming out, what she’s been going through.” Moreover, he claims, “The abuse is still going on.” Randy says the pair are still in contact mostly due to coparenting Eissa. “She has custody and he of course allowed her to bring the baby on tour, but it’s constant harassment. This tour almost didn’t happen, but by the grace of God we’re here and we’re very prayerful.”

-

“It’s not about anger or vengeance,” says Randy as for why he’s decided to voice his claims. While he says Janet “wants Eissa to have a mother and a father,” the couple’s issues have grown too large. “We don’t like to put our business out there but sometimes transparency helps you. The devil thrives in darkness. I’m just here supporting her through this time.”

Well, actually that's my only complaint. On the last tour the segment with Black Cat, If, Scream, Rhythm Nation really was hitting hard. It rocked. A shame that it got taken out.

As for Janet's marital status... it still doesn't make much sense. Why bring a child into this situation? Why stay with a guy, who supposedly acts like that? If that's true, I'm sure it didn't happen overnight. So really, wtf?

I think certain songs could be omitted, while others shouldn't. I'm indifferent with Black Cat.

-

According to the article and Randy, the abusive is supposed to be since she was pregnant..."“It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch everyday. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.”"

It was a whole segment, that belonged together. It was powerful. Shame it's gone.

I have a hard time believing that he would change from one day to the other to the extent of her leaving him, without there being any sign in the 6 years they have been together already.

this is a question you can ask anybody thats in a abusive relationship, i've never heard of any of them leaving at the first sign. Randy actually said she was pissed when he told her to leave, which means she may have stayed if her brother wasnt there.

Considering that by her own admission, she went through something like this before, you would think she would have learned.

I never got a good feeling about this marriage and everything that is coming out just proves my gut feelings. I figured Wissam was very controlling which is evident in the way he tried to change Janet. Janet never seemed happy with Wissam. I am not surprised he was also abusive. I am glad that Janet found the strength to leave him and I am glad Randy was there to help his baby sister. While I love Janet to BITS, Janet needs serious therapy (which again I suspect she has been dealing with depression). Janet has really really low self esteem.

She needs to do some soul searching. She keeps getting involved with these controlling and abusive men! After so many times, the oweness can't just be solely placed on these men. J is too old for this mess. She is 51 years old and has a baby now. She is not some naive teenager and she wasn't a young woman when she married Wissam. She simply rushed the marriage and used poor judgement, period. She needs to focus on raising her child moving forward and take a long break from dating(she is always in and out of relationships). With that being said, Wissam is a piece of SHIT as far as I am concern and if he is still harassing Janet, Janet needs to tell the judge at the next custody hearing and get a restraining order from his scum triflin ass.

IMO, Janet married Wissam for money. She always wanted that "billionaire" status. There was even an article that claimed that she was a billionaire until Forbes shot it down. I think there was a deal for her to have his child and then divorce and she would get money. I never thought they looked happy or even in love. Even when others on this forum claimed it. BTW, Randy is very messy. He, along with Janet, were the architects of the fiasco to take over Michael's estate from his children. I don't believe Randy for a moment. He was the one spreading lies about Michael's daughter during the attempted take over of Michael's estate. Basically, I don't trust what Randy is saying, because he is a known liar. I do believe that he is working with his sister to get a huge payout from Wissam and want to muddy his name as much as possible. Randy is NOT to be trusted. He works with tabloids to get his agenda across. He did it against his own brother. You can bet Randy has an agenda and it is not just concern for his sister. It's $$$.

Her tour director Gil is saying it is all true. I also do not think People would run the story if they did not check with Janet first. Wissam is Billionaie he has the means to do some damage, take the baby and get away with it. Wealthy Arabs are not to be underestimated. I posted an article about how 3 Saudi Prince's have disappeared for speaking out against the kingdom. The media may be the only avenue the Jacksons have to use.

You are all making this up. You don't know the woman at all.

Telling she needs therapy, what she needs to do with her child, and telling her how to live her lovelife.

Wow, you know it all right?

If you know it all, you must be living a perfect life yourself, right?

We are going by what Randy is saying so we are not making up anything. This is Janet's third marriage and all of her husbands have been assholes. You do not think there is a problem?

I agree Gil co signed it on social media AND Janet tweeted out on that same day "How Empty of Me to be so Full of you". People just need to use common sense and read between the lines. I think she made this public because Wissam is still harassing her which Randy revealed. Maybe this is a way for them to get him to stop.

Yes, bad PR and making it known to the world that he is abusive and harassing. I suspect she may have some evidence to back all this up if the tour director is saying it is true meaning people in circle are aware. This sometimes the best thing to do with abusers letting love ones and friends be award of what you are going thru. Abusers thrive on isolating their victims.
