guess the estate is working closely with ebay....so when people sell them on ebay for outrageous prices...they will secretly get a cut.....sound far fetched?

Plan to order cds, vinyl of full releases when they release them. I would buy a guitar if they sold them through the website. What I have ordered, the books and thought they were nice for collection.

For me it is not monetary, I would pay a lot for a guitar and a good amount for music and books. I just don't see myself cluttering my house with stuff I don't want. What I do look forward too is the music cd, bluray releases and the new books and if they release musical instruments.

I thought the books were excellent. To me, that's legacy merchandise. Intruments and craftsmenship too.

I just cringe and people jumping over each other for fridge magnets and ping pong balls.

I have probably over 500 concert tshirts and probably will downsize cuz I'm getting too old for that look! I'm not against them selling that sort of merch but I think the calling card for me will be music, books, video and higher end items like a guitar which I have a few already. I think the PP logo shirt is classy and the new prince shirt I would get one if at PP.

The book with guitars I will cherish that one forever. The Celebration limited book I thought was the worst of the batch but I'll take it. Good memories!

Any release, I will get on vinyl, cd and if they release the high res files. Got to have it all.

You know what the estate and many other bands should. Tons of bootleg shirts on ebay. They should work with Amazon as well from looks of cd material there.

The store now reads April 19-29 at the top so it appears that it will be open for a couple more days.

Really like the design, but including shipping to Europe it's just too damn expensive.

Sorry for giving you a useless reply, but I'd love to see a picture when your jacket arrives.

I'm quite annoyed by it to be honest. I bought the vinyl and shirt bundle because I thought that was the only official vinyl release of the track, but it turns out that it's also being released on black vinyl worldwide, which was only revealed later.

For some reason, even though the product doesn't ship until June they don't let you cancel pre-orders. I'm not super bummed out because the shirt is decent but the price I paid with shipping to the UK was quite high and I wouldn't have paid it had I known there would be a non-limited release for the single.

I just noticed this.

They have extended this 'flash' sale by FOUR days!

Maybe it's been so successful or maybe the sales have been poor!

Either way it is a mistake to rip oiff fans with these expensive bundles. A lot of the product isn't even nice - but a few items are.

Why not just release music and product fairly. At least when Warners are involved everything is done with a global structure in mind and the product is cost effective.

This is a very interesting point.

In the legal copy they don't mention this non-cancellation policy. They only mention this AFTER the purchase. However, legally they haven't accepted any order until they ship the item. This is a new law which came out around 2005. So they have the right to cancel orders whenever they want.

All items bought online can be returned yet there is a contractual cooling off period. So people can cancel their orders. However being this item isn't released for ages, the cooling off period would have expired by then. Yet I'm unsure if the cooling off period is from the shipping date as it's at this point the contract is made.

One thing for sure is that if we knew the picture disc was available worldwide then I'm sure the majority of people would not be ordering it from Paisley Park Enterprises.

If it is later revealled this picture disc is available worldwide, then without doubt this will show the fans have been lied to and minipulated by the estate.

I'm surprised Music Today is still involved as they always caused a mess with orders in the past.

Time will tell.

After shipping and tax, my $50 order was over $60. I guess that is still cheaper than the $77 T-shirt I got in the past. Plus I'll get a physical copy of the song and not just a digital copy lol lol lol

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Actually, the black vinyl was announced in the same press release that announced the hitnrun store and the release-to-stream of NC2U.

Same here!

I'm hoping they reissue some of the 1-800-New-Funk stuff he used to carry. Maybe they can partner with the company that makes the earcuffs... the white symbol jacket was awesome .... although I dread thinking what the cost would be.

I think it's more of a case of them not having many orders.

A passing Prince fan won't be bothered.

The digital generation will have it and those happy to have a vinyl copy will go for the much cheaper and widely available version rather than an 'unplayable' picture disc.

I get that, but I do believe the estate is not looking to do that. So far, they have issued things in a decent way. People bark about them "bilking" for money, but what exactly has come out? A greatest hits compilation is a given when a band either breaks up or a solo artist dies (even TLC is still performing but issued a GH when Left Eye died. It's a record company thing.

MJ's estate did the same thing w/ the 25th anniversary of BAD, with a 7" of "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" with the original spoken intro - an element removed on subsequent pressings (which is another reason I had hunted down the original pressing over the past decade and finding it, because they aren't marked any differently).

This 7" is a nice item to really put it out was a proper Prince song. Even though he did a live version in 1992, I think this one could easily become the definitive Prince version of the song. It's a nice piece to have. In some regard, the estate has listened. They released a bunch of unreleased things on the PR album, which was worth the cost alone. Whatever is coming in September I hope is going to be a great release. The little merch on the Paisley Park site is typical things I don't consider legacy material either (except those books, which are so great!).

I agree with all of they above, nicely put Trivial Pursuit. I dont think they are being distasteful. And PP still needs to generate income in one way or another. And a lot of us WANT things like the tambourines or guitar picks and such so I don't see the problem. If they were selling that T-shirt/7" combo for $200, now THATT would be a problem. But I dont think getting both for $50 was unreasonable.

Must resist love symbol jacket...

I'd proabably buy it if they had sizing measurements. Bomber jackets are notorious for being oversized so I can't part with that much mulla and not get a true fit.
