The only tribute I could come up with. Launched it on Prince's birthday in 2016.

After listening to some of Prince's live music today, I felt inspired to write:
You were so full of life, that I can still feel and hear U. So much love U gave that gives us all comfort and peace within.
Honestly, since he passed, it has been extremely hard to listen to his music without crying and feeling so heartbroken. I used to listen to his music almost everyday for 20+ yrs. I'm getting there as Prince wouldn't want any of us to mourn him but celebrate him.

It’s hard to believe that someone I never actually knew could have had such a profound impact on my life, but that’s exactly what Prince did. He was as important to me in my youth as a close friend or a relative. I will love him with all my heart until the moment I join him in eternal rest. Thank you, Prince, for making an awkward gay boy of the ‘80s feel like he mattered when nothing else did. You are ever loved and never 4gotten.

Amen.

Thank-you for sharing those sweet, heartfelt words!

The accompanying photo is lovely too.

I was watching the moving NC2U video this morning, and it seems to me such a fitting tribute to Prince by the Estate/Warners at this sad time of year.

I greatly appreciate them sharing it with us. I think it’s nice to read that it is ‘trending’ and hopefully introducing some of the younger generations to at least one of Prince’s beautiful songs.

For some reason, watching the NC2U clip made me think of another exquisite song about loss and missing someone you love dearly: https://www.youtube.com/w...42xEFB18n4

Prince was my hero who made me believe in myself. He made the world a better place to live in thanks to his music and artistry. I wish U Heaven, I know he has found another friend.

So honored to have seen him perform live when I was 17. Greatest concert of my life.

With God there is no death.

Some artists can save your life, but that's too trite for him for me. For me he restored my quality of life when my father died and I broke up with my financee in 2004 when Musicology dropped. I always enjoyed him but that kickstarted the whole affair for me. If nothing else, I wanted to live long enough to see what he did next and what he could teach me. Between then and now there's been a lot more complicated mess, to put it gently, and honestly recovering from sexual assault has been that much more healing thanks to him and his message. He taught me to push, not to stop until I go, and I keep pushing. His symbol is on my car. His pin is on my work uniform. He and Bowie and MJ (and so many others oh lord) are always with me, as are my family (my grandmother died on this date too smh - love you H). But I will never love another like I love Prince, and I know he knows.

Hey Jupiter, nothing's been the same.

Prince you will always be loved and never forgotten. As sad as I am I take comfort that you’re no longer in pain. It was your time and God called you home. I’m sure you’re making sweet music up in Heaven. 💜

Prince, for me, the 2nd anniversary has been harder than the 1st. I feel like I have drank a case of you over the last few days and I am emotionally hungover. As for me, I believe in all that was good in you; not denying that you were only human, but choosing to focus on your genuinely amazing virtues and your incredible talent that you shared with all of us. I am forever grateful. 💜

In 1984, I saw Prince for the first time on MTV, "Little Red Corvette". I was mesmerized and wanted to get closer to the TV to really watch him. I was married to a not so nice man. I made the comment, as I was walking to the TV of saying, "That's one sexy man." The next thing I knew, I was on the floor with my ex standing over me. I became a "closet" fan. If my ex was around, I would change the TV or radio station if Prince came on. If he wasn't around, I was turning it up. There was so much music I missed out on, though, due to being a closet fan.

In 1998, post divorce by a few years, dating again, my boyfriend reintroduced me to Prince. I was voracious when it came to his music. So much of his music really spoke to me. My boyfriend got us tickets to my very first Prince concert. May 12, 1998 Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL, general seating. I stood about 3 to 4 feet from him the entire concert. I went, expecting to see a superstar, and instead, I remember thinking, "This is a man doing exactly what he loves and is passionate about." I wanted to know more about him.

I got the internet (after having sworn I would never get it) because of Prince. I found prince.org first, thinking it was the official Prince site, but soon realizing it wasn't. eek People were knowledgeable, but they could also be......ummmm.......interesting. (Being polite here!)

I kept searching though, and then I found Love4OneAnother. I read that site through and through and just felt like I had found a kindred spirit. I finally decided (with a lot of fear because I'd heard horror stories about the internet, you know) entered The Holy River chatroom.

In there, I met people from all over the world. And I met my best friends, who have remained friends to this day. If it had not been because of Prince, I would never have met them. They have helped me through a lot of things over these 20 years, been there for me, as I have them. One friend helped me to develop a closer relationship with God, which I value to this day. He introduced this midwest, country girl who came from the middle of nowhere Missouri (one store in town and strong Christian values) to Eastern teachings, which resonated with me deeply. Prince gave me friends for life, that I can never thank him enough for.

I did thank him, one day on twitter, thanking him for these friends that became friends because we all shared love of his music, later that day he tweeted, "U r more than welcome". Whether it was in reply to my tweet thanking him for bringing them into my life or not, I prefer to think it was.

I still miss him, miss his vibe here on earth. He should still be here with us. He just should be.

Dear Prince - You have been ever present and insprirational throughout my life. Being an 80's kid, I came to know of you through 'When Doves Cry', when i heard that song, it was like listening to music for the first time.

1985 was a rough year for me. At just 13 my parents were going through some very difficult marital issues and I was beyond devastated. Around The World In a Day was my saviour that whole Summer, I listened to it back-back 5 times every day.

Finally getting to see you live on the Nude tour was magical. I saw most tours subsequently, one night during a 21 nights aftershow - you gave me a high five as i stood front of stage. Man - you are strong. I also got to see a 21 nights main show sitting right next to your assistant, long story, one for the grand-kids.. I felt i was part of the band.

Your music continued to be the soundtrack of my life. I met my wife in a bar and Shhh was playing in the background, Emancipation released the year we got engaged and Holy River was played at our wedding.

My kids love you too. Last week my daughter said she had discovered some new gems, Chelsea Rogers and Another Lonely Christmas.

I know you are hard-working, thoughtful and vested in others, charitable and a game changer. I have followed those values and it has served me good. Beyond family and some key friends, you have been the single biggest influence in my life.

I dont't believe in life/death, i believe we all transition to a new phase of our evolution. While missing your physical being and live shows, I know your spirit is here.

Take care my dear friend, and may God hold you close.
