Song pairs

For fun.

 

Connect two songs.

 

If you had to put tracks into pairs, what would have to go with what?

 

Obvously not just singles and their b-sides, and not neccesarily from same albums / periods. They could be related by theme, style, instrumentation / arrangement, lyrics etc.

 

When you think about it, some are obvious, but let's see what comes up...

How about this ... White Mansion + Purple House

 

Although actually listening to them back to back wouldn't be mindblowing, so I guess I am just referring to the song titles.

I often put "Sometimes It Snows In April" and "The Love We Make" together, because the first is a depressing song about death, and the second is an uplifting song reminding us to stay happy and be thankful we're alive.

That's really intriguing...

 

Hmm, I have to say though I've often found Snow In April uplifting. I always though of it as a song where he's remembering the nice stuff, but yeah you're right it's very sad and poignant and if you;re in the wrong mood I guess it's a wrist slasher. LOL
