200 Balloons is better than Batdance, I think. (Batdance is a drug trip mess. Sorry.)
I actually wish both 200 Balloons AND Dance With The Devil would've taken the place of both Batdance and Trust, but what can ya do?
She's Always In My Hair is MUCH better than Raspberry Beret--and Raspberry Beret is a great song. She's Always In My Hair, though, is sheer and total GENIUS.
And Erotic City is HELLA (I dunno) better than Let's Go Crazy--and Let's Go Crazy is a GREAT song. the strings and melody are just outstanding

Well, I've always thought that if you'd put together the B-Sides from the 1999, Purple Rain and ATWIAD albums, you'd have one of the best Prince albums in your hands. Well, maybe I wouldn't put "Girl" on it.
"Alexa De Paris" is probably better than some of the stuff that's on Parade, but I think Parade is perfect as it is. For example, "Do U Lie?" is not a very strong song, but I'm glad he put a song like that on the album.
I think "I Love U In Me" is better than the A-side ("Arms Of Orion"). Then again, the songs that ended up on the Batman OST were hardly the best he wrote during that era. "200 Balloons" and "Feel U Up" might be stronger than some of the tracks on the album as well.

I have started to love 'The Arms Of Orion' but I think it would work better as a B-Side and 'I Love U In Me' on the album.
'She's Always In My Hair' Would be awesome on 'ATWIAD' But I really don't know what I would exchange that for? I guess....'The Ladder'. I love that soing, but I think it would be better as a B-Side; although that would PERHAPS BE 'Too Preachy' for some.
Finally, Erotic City would do awesome on Purple Rain Rather than 'Baby I'm A Star'..I THINK..lol. Xpectation Surrender Falls N2 This Power Fantastic!  kNOw! |

I seriously dont get the hate or feelings of it being a throwaway while many people like that 200 Baloons song.
Is it the instrumentation on Girl that folks hate? Is it to whimsical sounding?

"Scarlet Pussy" is better than the album version of "I Wish U Heaven," in my opinion, which is ironic considering that was the A-side of the same single. However, the 12-inch version of "I Wish U Heaven" is a work of pure genius that blows most everything out of the water. Rock and roll is alive and it lives in Minneapolis!
