It says:
“Throughout the life of an artist, you have the blessing of meeting, knowing and creating with so many of God’s vessels who are courageous enough to surrender themselves to his Will. They reach beyond the limitations of what humankind determines to be boundaries, which then allows an extension of His hand beyond what they believed they were capable of. Whether it be in music, dance or the unforeseen, these people bring light into our lives that erases the relentless darkness trying to overshadow our happiness.
Mayte Garcia is a person of that light, in spirit and in person. In the decades of knowing and creating with Mayte, I have been blessed in my spirit and person, developing a sisterhood of fortitude, beauty, courage and strength that throughout the years has been a testimony of what a true mother, wife, friend, artist and human being should be.
Life is often full of the “didn’t see that one coming” moments and it was in one of these instances that I first met Mayte. People say that first impressions are the most lasting, and in this case I must agree. Meeting Mayte for the first time was a true pleasure. Here was a young woman facing life on a world stage. She was bold, talented, confident and gentle. The kind of person anyone would want to meet.
I strongly encourage you to share in the light of Mayte, to know Mayte and her story, you will find the need to extend your hand, in friendship and love into a much brighter place.” - Sheila E June 2017

Sheila laid it on a bit thick in my opinion. A bit too saintly. Also, maybe I am missing something but wasn't Sheila sort of out of the picture in the 90's Prince world? Other than the BET Tribute stuff, when did she and Mayte work together over the years? Choreography for a video? I am seriously asking here.

Shelby promotes MJM Premier stuff for herself, Mayte, and the O2 exhibit? I am not liking MJM connections between all these things.

To Mayte's credit, she clarified that the nomination has not happened yet. She is in the running for a nomination.

You are correct. I think she only got to know her after Prince died. I have no idea what

"Choreography" she is speaking of and she is laying it on thick but maybe she likes her and wanted to help. We the public do not always know what is going on behind closed doors.

Sheila has known Mayte since the 90s.

How would that be when Sheila has said she not around in the 90s? She started touring with Prince af ter Mayte was gone and we have no evidence that Mayte was around after they divorced.

Perhaps their collaborations were more recent than in the past.

When Mayte moves to Minneapolis, Sheila was living there. If I’m not mistaken, Sheila lived ther from 1990-1992. She also recorded a little with Prince during that time. Come on folks. I thought you guys were long time fans.
