The West Virginia GOP Senate primary today is insane

West Virginia's GOP holds its primary for the Senate nomination. There are three candidates. Whoever gets the most votes wins - no runoff. The candidates are:

-Some reprewsentative named Jenkins;
-The Attorney General, some guy named Morrissey (not the singer, though); and
-Don Blankenship

Blankenship is absolutely batshit crazy. Just in case you doubt me, here's his campaign commercial. Incredibly, I couldn't find just the commerical but it's in this Sam Seder report. Go to 0:56 and invest 30 seconds of your time. You will NOT be disappointed:

Now, here's the even crazier part: HE IS GOING TO WIN THE PRIMARY. That's my prediction, anyway.

This guy makes Roy Moore look...I don't know. It's hard to compare a murderer to a pedophile. Oh, what's that? Murderer, you say? Yes, Don Blankenship spent 1 year in jail because his coal company skirted safety law which led to the Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster - an explosion that killed 29 miners.

His website is right up there with the Timecube guy's. It's INSANE. Everyone is against him! The government actually killed those miners! He's Trumpier than Trump (his exact words)!

And honestly if he wins, I don't think he'd be worse than current WV Senator Joe Manchin.

^^ Been following this. We'll see what WV actually does, he is hated there. What he went to jail for was the tip of the iceberg of mining violations and deaths on his hands.

Blankenship Loses West Virginia Primary; Cordray Defeats Kucinich in Ohio

In the West Virginia Senate primary, Mr. Blankenship came in a distant third after an 11th-hour intervention by President Trump that was coordinated by Senate Republicans. They saw Mr. Blankenship as unelectable and unworthy of the Senate, given that he served a year in prison in connection with a mining disaster in 2010 that killed 29 men, and made racially offensive comments during the campaign.

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey won the Republican nomination to challenge Senator Joe Manchin III, one of the most vulnerable Democrats seeking re-election this year.

Senate Republicans just now got a conscience on who's unworthy to hold office? That's rich. hmm

So what do you guys think of the fact that Blakenship was supported by the Democrats? They had a Super PAC working for him.

In a repeat of the same Pied Piper Strategy they used to promote Donald Trump in 2015/16 they promoted Blakenship because they thought he would be the easiest Republican to beat.

Does this trouble you guys at all?

I was really sad to hear that Paula Jean Swearengin lost the Democratic primary in West Virginia. She was really, really great. Hopefully she will keep fighting in a different way.

Joe Manchin is a real POS, but he's a POS with name recognition and millions of dollars to spend.
