Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

The economy is doing great (at the moment). But with no wars and minimal unemployment, it is saddneing that we will end up raking up massive debt and end up just as we did at the end of the W Bush administration or worse. We cannot take another economic meltdown.

It woud seem the current administration does not care.

^ could be we are headed that way. Permanent tax cuts for the wealthy, temp tax cuts for everyone else.

164,000 jobs added (lower than expected)

3.9% unemployment (good)

Little to no wage growth (means people are working for less and companies exploiting that)

So inflation will not spike and the Fed will likely not raise interest rates....

Qustion is: is this sustainable?

Well that on itself is sustainable. Those are good numbers. The tax cuts are absolutely NOT sustainable.

164K is better than Obama's 8-year per month average so that is a positive.

We have had stagnant wage growth for years.

I believe them. Everyone I know that wants a job has one. And this is the first time in a long while where headhunters are being very proactive. I’ve been approached with better offers after better offers myself.

It's ridiculous to compare 14 months of job growth to 96 months worth of job growth. The US economy is not static and we won't know for sure how Trump will compare to Obama until Trump's term is over. And even then, we're going to be comparing 4 years of inherited job growth to 8 years that started with inheriting the worst US economy in 200 years.

That's correct BOOMING. If California were a country, it would have the fifth-largest economy in the world.

The state’s growth has reinforced a liberal narrative, that a state with a big government can still have a booming economy. Strict environmental protections, a progressive tax policy and an ascendant minimum wage haven’t slowed the surge.

Prosperity has come with pain: traffic, property prices, homelessness (<--which has continued to grow since the Reagan adminsitration) But the state’s economic success has underpinned its defiance of the Trump administration.

California’s Medi-Cal system under the Afordable Health Act has helped more poor and homeless get medical care. That’s huge. The homeless situation is complicated. I wish we could do more, but at least we offer everyone decent medical care.

nod

The homeless situation is complicated. The homeless I see in my area of town tend to yell at the air and talk to no one or rant at you unintelligibly as you walk by. Either permanent drug damage or mental ilness plagues these people and even if they are offered shelter they will not necessarily accept it. It's sad and disturbing and uncomfortable.
