Do P&R regulars even like Prince?

Ever notice how many (most?) of the regular posters in this forum rarely if ever post in any threads about Prince? hmmm

I'm curious about such orgers. Do they like Prince? Why don't they post about Prince? Why come to the org every day talk about everything except Prince?

I like Prince but it gets old seeing the same discussions over and over about Prince and I have a photographic memory and can remember every discussion I ever see about Prince. I prefer religion and politics because they are evolving more so politics but I also decided a few days ago I'm a Born Again Christian. I take my faith serious.

I get that. I started dabbling in this forum post 4/21/16 as a way to stay engaged with the org at times when there is little of interest going on in Prince discussions.

But, I still participate when interested, and I've noticed you do to.

I'm more curious about those that rarely if ever comment about Prince.

I have it on good authority that almost all of them are members of a secretive cabal of leftists, whose basement dwellings are adorned with posters of Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers (including the windows). Memos I have seen from trusted online sources reveal a sneaky plan to use the fansites of music icons from the golden era of Reaganite excess to spread the message of communistic social justicisms across the heartlands of Murca. CyndiLauper.org actually has a whole forum dedicated to the Weathermen. As does the main fansite of 80s one-hit wonders The Weathergirls, though that one turns out to be for innocent (if saucy) reasons.

2Freaky is their leader and 2elijah sits on his right hand. Which he quite likes, the dirty red perv.

Only is hardcore Prince fan. I believe 2Freaky is as well. Prince would pickup different fans as he changed. I was fan but became more hardcore around the time he started battling WB. Obsessed with "the War" and I liked the weirdness of Tora Tora. Prince incorporated some "conspiracy theories" into him message sometimes.

I love Prince. He's just about all I listen to, or play on guitar. I wear a symbol necklace every day, although the chain broke last night so I need a new chain. I feel naked today without it on.

I'm almost obsessed with Prince's music. I don't often take part on discussions about the estate, his death Oreos private life because I don't have anything to add and all the speculation drives me insane. Plus lately every thread ends up in fights (sort of like this forum). But I keep checking threads like the PR reissue or the expect the unexpected one.

That is cool Rodeo about the necklace. I have a collection of memorabilia too and I even have a cloud guitar from NPGMC. Silver I also do not like the estate talk too much I feel extremely sad about his passing. I also was shocked to hear that Prince would checkout the org and I thought he never would because of some of the negativity about new music.

In fairness, Music Non-Prince used to be fun when most orgers were talking about music from the 60's-80's. I was also interesting when we talking about funk. But as soon as the 2010's started, Music Non-Prince began talking about 90's too often.......and there were a small number of ex-orgers that were NOT fans of the 90's! lol

For me, For You era to the Emancipation era is THE best Prince career timeline. And all die-hard Prince fans AND marks can quote me. wink

I'm a True Funk Soldier who can still tear up when playing Phase Two knowing it was the last time Prince can ever take us to new and unexpected places - Somthing he has done to me since Dirty Mind. So grateful to have seen him one last time at the Sydney Opera House so close to that fateful day.

.

I often visit Prince: Music and more, just seldom post there

Happy to see so many in this forum are still in to Prince and participate in discussions. Very cool.

I guess I thought to ask about this because there are several P&R regulars that when I check their profile, only post in this forum and other non-Prince oriented forums. That's a head scratcher for me.

Thanks all for sharing. My faith is renewed. biggrin wink cool

Browse it and click on a few things that catch my attention, like the 101 leak. I just don't see the need to discuss things that have been discussed over and over. I view PR as debate club in high school. Pick a topic and debate it one way or another. You don't even have to believe. You can create characters that think own thoughts. You can even create characters in real life and have multiple personalities and voices. And follow them. No I don't like to discuss things over and over.

I love Prince, so I started (and continued) coming here for news about his music/tours.

I've always been drawn to the Non-Prince and Politics discussions more than anything though, when it comes to getting involved lol

Part of it is that the Prince threads are so long and I can't stand shallow chatter. If only there was a juicy bits only filter.

I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a "regular" P&R poster, but besides Music: NP, this is probably the side that I've posted on the most.

Historically, I've never posted a whole heck of a lot on Prince: M&M. It's not because i didn't like Prince. Its just that i never had much to say about most of the topics. I've been into Prince since the beginning, so a lot of the stuff that was talked about, i was already familiar with. Or were things that didn't interest me. And the stuff that did interest me(things like what chords were played, or what instruments were played, etc), i didn't need to comment on. I just lurked on those threads. And that's mostly just what i did.

Now, since Prince has died, i really can't deal with some of the stuff that goes on over there. Some of it just seems too pointless to comment on. And some of the other stuff is just too sad and depressing to think about(or comment on). I guess what I'm getting at is for my peace of mind, i don't go on Prince:M&M, much. For the most part, i prefer to keep my thoughts and memories about Prince, to myself.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

This exactly.

Besides, there's only so many inane "if Prince farted in a rainbow cloud and made it rain skittles, what would his toenail clippings taste like?" type threads a person can stand.

Inane threads about nonsense is one of the reasons I started dabbling in P&R myself. wink
