The 1980's Supergirl was decent, they put some thought into it..

No it wasn't. Have you watched it recently? I'd rather watch Superman IV, at least it's so bad it's funny.

I get that all the time. Usually it is because they see you as "doing better than them". Its a form of jealousy.

I'm not disputing that may be something you personally experienced or feel. I also think there are sometimes other issues at play in these instances. Check the link in the post above yours reviewing 2 recent books about Black Republicans, and their sometimes uneasy relationships with both White Republicans and with their fellow Black community members.

I have many relatives who have conservative views, but they'll go Malcolm X on their fellow white conservatives if they have to. It's those black republicans who buckdance and say nothing against the bigots in their own party that deserve scorn.

it is easy to justify such acts. it is easy to assume the worst of people. it is really easy to use slurs to put people down. maybe not so easy to say "I do not agree with you and I think maybe you are catering too much..." and leave it at that.

Screen Rant has an interesting article that explains why Wonder Woman's male audience matters.

Wow one screening for women causes a lot of ruckus lol Meanwhile my company has had two free screenings of this movie - don't worry plenty 'o men are seeing it!

It was kind of funny.

Some men: Wonder Woman... fuck that feminist bullshit.

Same men upon hearing of women only screenings: I demand equality!
Murica: at least it's not Sudan.

At the time of the original article, there were three or four women-only screenings at the theater mentioned and 70 at the same theater for men. So men are definitely not being kept out.
