Lets play a game

Sometimes the political diversity surprises me on the org. If there really is that diversity, then it yet another example of how Prince was able to cross barriers. Hate is such a horrible word & I'm not gonna enjoy using it, but I hate the tribalism in our society. I hate hearing stories about families tearing apart over political ideologies. I hate when conservatives get mad at me over something stupid, & I hate when liberals get mad at me over something stupid. Lol so now that I've spewed hate all over this thread let's play a game shall we? I would like to hear a liberal say something that they believe that is actually a conservative position. Likewise I would like to see a conservative also make a position that is actually progressive. If..... if someone would even go that extra mile for me, let's have a conservative call bs on something generally viewed as a conservative stance, then likewise let's see a brave liberal do the same. This is not a good thread for libertarians or centrist folks. I want to hear from party line people & hardliners. Actual Democrats & Republicans, & the far left/right folks. The thread is not intended to fight out these positions. My intent is to show that we are more intelligent than the media & the 2 major parties think we are.

I believe in capitol punishment in theory,

but not in practice.

Because I don't trust our justice system to get it right.

hmmm

Seems like "centrist folks" would be GOOD to hear from to me.

The media and the 2 major parties do think we're dumb enough to simply pick a side and go all in, pitting us against each other so we don't hold their feet to the fire.

We centrists are more intelligent than that and instead of taking a "side", we approach politics issue by issue.

The media seems to be using partisan politics as a means to keep us fighting. Sometimes it seems like they WANT a civil war. The way to show them we're smarter than that is to abandon partisan politics in favor of a focus on individual issues.

While I believe that Israel has a right to exist, I have decided that it just isn't worth all of the trouble it causes.

I recommend that we establish Israel in Florida and New York State.

You disappoint me, on the abortion position.

No one is pro-abortion, it is just the lesser of two evils.

What gets me is that the people who are against abortion,

are the same people who are against providing access to other forms of birth control,

which would prevent unwanted pregnancy.

So it really is an attack on female promiscuity, and female reproductive control.

Lots of married women get abortions.

It is a painful decision to have to make, and a difficult thing to live with.

You deserve to be a woman of child bearing years with no access to birth control.

Kudos for sticking with the game. I do think it is interesting. You have come up with good stuff.

-

What no one ever talks about re abortion is that some women know deep down they should not be mothers (ever OR at-this-time) and we should respect that and butt out. That doesn't mean they are wrong or crazy or unwomanly. It just is.

-

Imagine if every sperm was legislated to create a mandatory child.

Peace is more than the absence of war.

Nah... We should just move all the Jews to Madagascar...

That sounds very anti-Semitic

I am not suggesting we move "the Jews" anywhere in particular, Just Israel.

I am suggesting a completely different "Two State Solution"

We establish "New Israel" in New York State and Florida.

(or in Holland)

that is where I am. The fact that a bunch of people on death row have been proven to be not responsible for the offense they were sentenced to death over after all appeals had been used. There is no way that those were the only ones wrongfully sentenced to die.

I believe there is more to gender than just body parts and chromosomes. The fact that some people are born Physically ambiguous and that such things exist in nature (including some animals that can switch) ought to be enough for us to agree that i is not as simple as parts and Xs or Ys.
