Countess Elizabeth Báthory may have been on to something after all...

...she bathed in the blood of the young to retain her youth.

Young-to-old blood transf... limelight in 2014 when Harvard Stem Cell Institute researcher Amy Wagers discovered that the blood of young mice improved muscle, heart, and brain function in older mice. Scientists sewed the skin...e together, allowing their circulatory systems to merge. The surgery, called parabiosis, was first performed in the 1860s but has seen a resurgence of interest following Wagers’s study.

PayPal cofounder and Facebook investor Peter Thiel recently told Inc. that he finds parabiosis “really interesting” and said that his curiosity leans more toward his personal health rather than a potential business venture. This is not the first time Thiel has shown an interest in combatting aging.

No but it was the first thing that came to mind when I first heard about this. I mean it's still using the blood of the young to retain ones youth, 20 years ago who'd of thunk it.

I don't know what happened to the mice but clinical trials are ready to go. Shocked the hell out of me. This is second time I heard about it , the first time I didn't take it seriously.

That's a scary thought. Ok I'm officially creepier out right now at the idea this growing into a trend.
